Our Team

Dr Jo Blackwell PhD, MPH, BSc (Honours)

I'm Jo, and I founded REAP in 2024. I've spent the last 22+ years working in the fields of health, social care, physical activity, and community work, holding practice, leadership, and research roles in the public and voluntary sectors, as well as in higher education.

I specialise in qualitative research and have spent much of my time working with and for marginalised communities. I have also engaged in quantitative and mixed methods research.

I have an undergraduate degree in nutrition, health, and lifestyles, a Masters degree in Public Health, and a PhD in the sociology of health, illness, and physical activity. I also have a Prince2 project management qualification.

Associates and Collaborators

We often collaborate with other people and/or organisations where our combined expertise benefits a project. Some of our collaborations so far have included academics, voluntary sector organisations, and fellow consultants.

Our approach to our work

We pride ourselves on the care we take to ensure ethical and inclusive practice. We have completed responsible conduct in research training, are experienced in the application of research ethics, and regularly update our knowledge concerning equality, diversity, and inclusion. As well as being registered with the Information Commissioner's Office we have also completed the NHS data security and protection toolkit.

You can find a link to our privacy notice on the website footer, and our data protection policy is available on request. Our Equality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy is also available on request.
